Description
In Level 2, you’ll teach essential math skills, including reading and writing up to six-digit numbers, addition and subtraction within 1,000, story problems, measurement, time, money, and more. Your full-colour Level 2 Teacher’s Manual will guide you through the scripted steps of each lesson, including review and new teaching.
Everything in the Teacher’s Manual is laid out for you step by step. You’ll be able to successfully teach math without feeling overwhelmed. And the program helps your student learn quickly, while still guaranteeing retention and enjoyment. Our approach develops children’s confidence in their math abilities!
Note: This Level 2 Teacher’s Manual must be used in conjunction with a Level 2 Student Packet. It cannot be used by itself.
What’s Taught in Level 2:
Number and Operations in Base Ten
- Read and write numbers up to 1,000
- Count by 2s, 5s, 10s, and 100s
- Understand place value through hundreds
- Compare three-digit numbers using comparison symbols
- Add and subtract within 1,000
- Mentally add and subtract 10 or 100
Operations and Algebraic Thinking
- Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve word problems
- Fluently add and subtract within 20
- Work with equal groups to find totals
- Determine whether a group has an odd or even number of objects
Measurement and Data
- Measure and estimate lengths using standard units
- Relate addition and subtraction to length
- Work with time and money
- Represent and interpret data using picture graphs and bar graphs
Geometry
- Recognize and draw shapes with specified attributes
- Partition rectangles into rows and columns
- Partition circles and rectangles into equal shares
- Describe equal shares using fraction language
