Kid’s Makers Market – All the tables are now accounted for.
This event takes place at Classical Education Books: #104 – 37451 Kilgard Road Abbotsford, BC.
Create and then sell products in a fun and supportive environment. The Makers Market is an opportunity for homeschoolers to showcase their creativity, learn real-world skills, and run their own small business for a day.
The focus of this event is not making a pile of money, although we have seen that happen. Instead, this is a learning experience that we hope will help your children:
- experiment with design and marketing
- experience problem-solving scenarios
- build time management skills
- practice decision-making skills
- explore entrepreneurship
- grow in confidence
- learn how to talk to customers
- talk about their process & products
- be creative
- set goals and persevere
- understand the value of hard work
- learn from others/work as a team
- learn about pricing and profit
- practice record-keeping
The cost of the vendor space is $25. Each vendor who stays until 2pm will receive a participation certificate with their name and a list of learning highlights (helpful for school reporting and a keepsake) plus a $10 gift card to Classical Education Books.
A few things to consider…
- This event takes place in Abbotsford at the bookstore.
- Space is limited, so it’s important to book your spot ASAP.
- We are strictly limiting table size to 4′ x 2.5′ to accommodate more families (supplied by vendor).
- Booking early ensures that you get a spot. However, we cannot issue refunds for this event.
- This is not a drop-off event.
- Once you are registered for this event, we’ll need you to spread the word to your community.
- Plan to put aside some of your items and participate in the vendor trading time during the final 30 minutes of the event (more on this in the download once you’ve booked your spot).
